ICF as Catalyst for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice

A 2-hour ICF workshop was conducted at 5th International Conference on Disability and Rehabilitation (1 April 2018, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) with the title:

The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health: Catalyst for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice

During this workshop we explored practical ways to apply the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF)
interprofessionally in clinical practice to:

  • Promote a patient-centred bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach to care
  • Ensure continuity of care
  • Clarify professional roles
  • Embrace the complexity of holistic care
  • Integrate the social determinants of health

The PowerPoint for the presentation can be downloaded here, as well as the case study and the form used to practice the approach demonstrated in the workshop.
